System and data backup

Hi,
I have been advised to use AOMEI Backup Standard in order to backup my system before splitting a disk partition where the OS lives (MS Windows 10). My purpose is to install a Linux distribution in a dual boot after these operations. But in case something wrong happens, it is not just a matter of system but also applications and data loss. Am I right ? Or does your tool do it all ?

    Yes Aomei backups your System partitions or complete Disk (if you have more partitons than only the System and C: partitions). And that is incl. program files and data. When restored it should boot and everything should work as before.
