incremental automatic delete

If you configure on the backupper "automatic delete" what happens with incremental images?
I think all incremental images are needed to make a restore possible so it's not possible to delete incremental images since the last full backup.
On the contrary on a page of AOMEI I've read that incremental files are deleted with "automatic delete"
