Restoring full and differential backup

Hello,

there is something I am not sure about and that doesn't seem to be explained in any place in a clear way.

In case I have a full backup and a differential backup and want to restore these backups, do I have to restore first the full backup and then afterwards the differential backup or does restoring the differential backup automatically restore the full and the differential backup?
