Confused on the details!

I will soon be online, and looking for HDD backup software that is better than the XP Pro 'system restore'. Looked at many apps, eliminating them one by one. I am now looking into AOMEI Backupper. Need to know the differences between:

System backup and disk backup

System clone and disk clone

Also, does the app require .NET Framework? AOMEI looks to be what I need, but I have to make sure. Any help is appreciated.

    Clavus,

    System backup creates an image of the bootable system partition (bootable where your OS is stored).  Disk backup creates an image of the entire selected disk (physical).

    System clone copies from one drive to another the system partition (bootable where your OS is stored).  Disk clone copies the entire contents of one drive to another.

    The .NET framework is not required.
