MBR to GPT Conversion

I bought a 4 TB Seagate drive and allowed Windows 7 to format it, creating a 2 TB drive and 2 TB of unallocated space that can't be recovered because MBR doesn't recogniz anything above 2 TB. Will Partition Assistant Professional convert a disk that is active with system files on it from MBR to GPT? Also without any data loss? Please let me know. Thank you.

  • Rkuzniewski,

Yes.  This conversion will work.  The more data present on the drive the longer it will take.  Also, it is recommended that you backup your data before making such a conversion.  While the software supports doing this on the fly, a good backup is ALWAYS recommended.
