how to clone to a partition????

I've cloned the hard drive on my old computer to an external hard drive.    I want now to transfer (clone?) the contents of the cloned external drive to an empty partition on the hard drive on my new computer so that I can dual boot. But I can't see how to do this so your help would be much welcomed.

Hello Roy, thank you for asking good questions. I understand you would like to migrate an OS. To give you the best support we can, we need some help from you.
"I've cloned the hard drive on my old computer to an external hard drive"
Was the source disk an MBR or a GPT Disk?
Was the source motherboard in Legacy BIOS, UEFI-csm or UEFI-noncsm mode?
Please post a screenshot of the source disk from Aomei Partition Assistant.

"I want now to transfer (clone?) the contents of the cloned external drive to an empty partition on the hard drive on my new computer so that I can dual boot"
What do you mean by "empty partition"? Do you mean unallocated space? Do you mean a partition that has no files on it yet?
Is the destination motherboard in Legacy BIOS, UEFI-csm or UEFI-non-csm mode?
Is the final destination disk, the 3rd disk, an MBR or a GPT Disk?
Please post a screenshot of the final destination disk, in Aomei Partition Assistant.

What is the OS you are wanting to migrate? Windows, Linux, or something else? Which OS version?
In the final destination disk, what is the current OS there, Windows, Linux, or something else? Which OS version?
The steps to migrate various system setups are usually different, we need more information to give you more specific steps.
Migrating an OS from a Legacy-BIOS to a Legacy BIOS dual boot has certain steps.
Migrating an OS from a UEFI to a UEFI with dual boot has certain steps.
Migrating an OS from a Legacy-BIOS to a UEFI has certain steps.
Every technician will agree though, that we recommend you to please fully backup your final distination disk before you migrate the OS partition there. You could choose to merely backup the individual files, or you could use Aomei Backupper to perform a full disk backup into an .ADI file, but regardless of which type of backup you choose, you will keep this backup onto an external disk, not inside one of these 2 PCs.
We look forward to hearing your reply, Roy, so we can give you more specific advice. Thank you!
