Trying to clone disk but AOMEI aborts during PreOS

I have dual boot Windows 7 and Linux. I want to clone this to a second, identical disk to then try and install a third OS (without worrying). However, during the PreOS stage, it says there is a problem (details below).

I am cloning on the same computer as the disk which I want to clone. The steps I took:

1) Disk Clone Wizard, select sector-by-sector (I want the disks to be identical)
2) Restart in to Windows PE mode
3) Apply
4) Machine restarts
5) I select Windows 7 (it's not the default)
6) Windows 7 background comes up (no Start button etc yet) with "AOMEI Partition Assistant 9.9.0"
7) "The program detected the disks in current Windows PE environment differ from Windows environment".....
8) Restart
9) AOMEI Partition Assistant PreOS Mode
10) "The operation abort! Information code: 11. Description: No operations available"

Can someone please help? I just want to make a clone of the disk. If I can't get this to work I'll buy a couple of SATA->USB adapters and try cloning from another machine.

  • @Clone77, Our program can't clone the dual boot Windows 7 and Linux. The cloned Linux might be unable to boot.
