Partition Assistant - Error Check running 60 hours and only on 84%

Hi

I am trying to run Error Check on a Seagate Barracuda 3000GB drive. When I initialised Error Check the only option that was made available to me was "Check whether there is bad sector on the partition", the other options were grayed out. So far Error Check has been running for 60 hours and completed 84% of the task (see attachement)  ... is this normal? I am running Win7 x64 on a SSD C:Drive with 32GB RAM

    According to the picture you post, you can see all the checked sectors are damaged. In this case, you can just cancel the check operation. 


    In addition, whether you can access this disk under Windows or not? 

    If you have important data on this disk, we suggest that you first make a full backup of this disk, then download other software like HD Tune to try fixing it.

  • Hi YoungCheng. Thanks for the reply. Yes Windows sees the disk but wants me to Intialize the Disk which I do. I then receive an error message. The disk does not have a drive letter but I cannot assign one to it either. I will try HD Tune. Thank you again
