DRIVE UPGRADES ERROR “BOOT DEVICE NOT FOUND”

Try to upgrade HP Elitebook 2560p (Core i5 2nd GEN & 16GB Ram) to Seagate SSHD Hybrid Drive. When install the latter in the pc and boot up, the error comes saying that  "boot device not found" drive is not recognized in BIOS and system will not even boot to the Windows 7 x64 dvd. it just goes to the boot device not found screen. Is it because the mother board isn’t compatible with SSHD?

THANKS FOR ANY HELP!

  • According to what you said, did you migrate OS from old drive to SSHD?

  • I have a 2730p and I installed a ssd last year. My elitebook is older than yours. It was difficult to get it to find it but with the proper settings it worked. I will look and see if i can find the settings.
