Partition Assistant : Hide/Unhide Partition doesn't work properly

edited September 2014 in AOMEI Products Support

I noticed that when I use Partition Assistant (v5.x) that it doesn't allow me to hide/unhide any partition I want. This is obviously a bug (a user should be able to hide/unhide any partition he/she chooses to hide/unhide), so can this annoyance be corrected in the next release, please ?

  • Evil_E,

Can you explain in more detail what you were trying to accomplish?

  • - disk 0 partition 0 : Windows #1 (Primary, hidden)

    - disk 0 partition 1 : Windows #2 (Primary, active, visible)

    - disk 0 partition 2 : Data (Logical, visible)

In Partition Assistant Pro (either via bootable media or from within Windows) :

    (1) unhide disk 0 partition 0

    (2) set active disk 0 partition 0

    (3) hide disk 0 partition 1

Step 3 in Partition Assistant Pro v5.5.8 is IMPOSSIBLE because the "hide partition"-option is greyed out and thus cannot be selected/clicked for some unknown reason.

Other Partition Managers (like Paragon Partition Manager 11, for example) are perfectly capable of executing all 3 steps listed above and thus hide the 2nd OS partition (like I want it to be).

So AOMEI definitely has a problem with its software because it should be perfectly capable of doing this in the first place.
