Extra unfamiliar drive shows when new ssd installed
I have an old hard drive unplugged when I install a new Samsung 250 EVO new installed with Win7. After installation, I plug the old one in again and strange thing is that it shows 3 drives: 231GB C; E drive says system reserved 28MB free of 102MB; F drive which I have just formatted says 912GB. What’s the E drive? Where does it come from? If it’s part either of my old hard drive or my new SSD, then how to put them back together?

Windows 7 and later contain an hidden partition that the OS uses for encryption, boot files, etc. Chances are a drive letter was assigned to it during one of the operations you went through.
Hi Darylsonnier,
Thanks for replying. If I understand you right, I can leave it there or hide it. Right?
