How to unlock my HDD from BIOS?

My HDD is locked in BIOS; thus, I cannot open it and cannot format it.

What to do to help myself?

Any suggestions to try?

Thanks!

  • If you mean that it's set to read only by the computer BIOS you ought to be able to turn that feature off.  The user manual for your computer or motherboard should include instructions.  Some hard drives have the option to be made read only by firmware settings (Seagate and Western Digital have both supported such features as well as other lesser known manufacturers).  If this is the problem, then a firmware settings tool from the manufacturer should be able to help.  Also the user forums for the hardware (computer or hard drive) ought to be able to get you more specific information.

  • You help much!

    Thanks a lot!
