Usb stick stop working

Suddently, my usb stick stopped working this morning. However, it was all right yesterday when I used it. Then, I tried my best to recover it but all failed. I tried it in multiple ports and on several computers. I also tried to uninstall it. All in vain! What should I do next? Really, I don’t want to lose it!

Thanks for any help!

  • Do you have any idea why?  Was it soaked?  Did it get hit with static discharge?  Anything else that might've damaged it?  If it did get wet, put it in a plastic bag with a dessicant (drying agent).  Most department stores carry dessicants in either household chemicals sections or near fabric dyes.  If you can't get to a store any time soon a bag of dry rice will also suck out the moisture over the course of a night or two.  Granted if it did get wet, then it could've short circuited permanently.  With any luck, the data is intact and the drive just needs to dry.  If it got hit with static, though, it may simply be destroyed.
