SSD not visible in boot menu

edited September 2014 in AOMEI Products Support

Hi

I've used option 'Migrate OS to SSD or HDD' from AOMEI Partition Assistant, everything went well, data has been copied(2 new partitions on SSD) but in BIOS boot menu SSD is not visible(but it's visible in windows 8 explorer). Any idea what might be wrong?

Thanks for help!

Maciej

  • Hi mckswk,

Is your SSD of GPT style or MBR? If it's GPT style, you should make sure that the motherboard supports UEFI or EFI boot. Besides, maybe you should check your computer manual.

  • Hi

Thanks for answer! So original disk(1TB, laptop Lenovo G580) is GPT, but after OS migration, SSD(240GB) partitions are marked as MBR. In BIOS there is UEFI option and EFI boot. I've tried to apply option in AOMEI fix MBR, but didn't help. Any suggestion what could be done to fix it?

    Thanks!
