Safely making SSD boot drive and integrate 2 HDD

Here’s the situation: recently, I bought a new SSD drive with my old HDD containing all my things still working. So, only if all my things are safe and work the same as before will I move OS to the SSD. Can partition assistant insure this? Besides, yes, I have two old HDD. Can partition assistant make them into one?

Thanks

  • Geo,

I would use the Migrate OS to SSD option in Partition  Assistant. This will move the present disk structure to your SSD.

You might find any software that has a licence that is locked to your hard drive may need to be reactivated as your new hard drive will have a different serial number.

Personally, I always prefer to make a complete disk image and then restore that to a new drive.

Make sure you do not have the new and old disk in the PC when you first reboot, or at least disconnect the cables from the old drive after copying the contents.

The original drive will still have your original installation on it.
