Free Backupper no longer restores except if booted from cd

The installed version used to work to complete restore of system image, but now it hangs after rebooting, and gives not error message.....just the process never begins to copy files etc., as if it cannot find the image on the extra (non system drive) that I have it on.  It will work only if I boot the program from the CD version.  Don't know where things have changed.

    I had the same problem after the Windows 10 1803 update (apparently something wrong during the update).
    During a Remote TeamViewer session a very friendly and competent AOMEI Technician found the problem : 
    Backupper could not find the Restore Environment due to a problem with reagentc.exe
    He did the following things witch solved the problem:
    Open an administrator Command Prompt and enter the following 2 commands
    C:\Windows\system32>reagentc /disable
    C:\Windows\system32>reagentc /enable
    After this I was able to create a system backup (as usual) but I could also do a restore of that backup from within AOMEI Backupper without the need of a bootable CD or USB key.

    Try it, it hopefully will solve your problem too.
