AOMEI Backupper Pro 2.0.1 does not launch anymore (Windows 8.1)

After a few weeks of not using it, I recently tried launching AOMEI Backupper Pro 2.0.1 on my Windows 8.1 computer. The splash screen shows up and says "loading" while creating around 40% CPU load, but other than that nothing happens, even after waiting for 15 minutes.

In another thread somebody possibly had the same problem, but its content was deleted. I already tried reinstalling Backupper twice (once with rebooting between uninstall/install); nothing changed.

I would appreciate any help!

    Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, after I deleted all AOMEI related files and registry entries, rebooted and installed it again – the problem is still the same.
