Aeomi Backupper Pro not deleting old backups

I have my backup scheme set to incremental backup and to retain the last 5 versions of the backup image file.  However, it never deletes the old versions.  They still sit there.  Question: When I tell it to retain the last 5 versions, is that referring to the incremental files, or the large image file?  If it's the large image file, maybe I need to set it to 2 versions (vice 5).  Thoughts?
