Which options for WinPE for MS Surface running Windows 10?

Hi,

I am using Backupper to make disk images of my Microsoft Surface Pro, but I am a bit uncertain over which of the options would be best in my case when it comes to creating a WinPE USB-thumbnail drive for this computer? Which of the following options should I choose?

I assume that I should go with the "Windows PE-option" rather then Linux? But what about the above options? The USB thumb drive will be created with the Microsoft Surface Pro tablet, so will this mean that all necessary drivers and other specific items for Surface will be injected somehow in the installation, or should I tick the "Download WinPE creating environment from Internet-option"??? And should I choose, "legacy bootable disc" or "create UEFI bootable disc"??? I will only use the emergency thumb drive on my Microsft Surface tablet.

Thanks!

  • So your disk is MBR or GPT?
  • Hi, when I checked with diskpart it says GPT. So it is a Microsoft Surface Pro with Windows 10 64-bit with GPT.
  • Please choose the UEFI option, and that Download option is recommended.
