Clone question

I have a laptop that I'm trying to clone the hard drive.  I purchased another hard drive exactly the same model as the one I have with the same 1 T capacity.  However, after going through the clone process it stops and says "Not enough reserve space. Please make big enough available space for target partition. If you have checked the "Align partition to optimize for SSD" option, uncheck it please and try again because this option will adjust partition accordingly and may cause this error."

I was doing a partition clone because the model of hard drive was the same.

When I go into Internet explorer now, it shows not only the original Drive C and Drive D but also shows a Drive E called WinreDRV and a drive I: and Drive J: .

As to Capacity, here is what they all show:

C: 408 G used  with 482G  available

D: 4.91G  used with 20 G available.

E: 305G used with 694G available

I: 398 G used with 493 G available

J: 4.91 G used with 20 G available

Also, the Drive E: has only one item showing on it, which is a folder named "Recovery" but it contains nothing.  I don't see where the 305 G are used.

Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong please?

  • too_tall,

A picture is worth a thousand words, could you make a screenshot for Windows disk management and post here?

Note: Press WIN+R, type "diskmgmt.msc" to open windows disk management.
