Error in Conversion from NTFS to FAT32

Hi

I am using AOMEI software to convert my 1 TB hard drive from NTFS to FAT32.

But i am getting an error after 3% of the operation. The error/report is as below :

"Sorry, the current operation has been canceled!

Information Code: 220

Description: The feature on the NTFS can not be supported by the program yet.

More Information: The MFT of the partition has too much file fragment, please defragment MFT at first, and retry!"

Please suggest what needs to be done.

    Hi  mpk222

I am afraid that the cause of your issue maybe the existing potential disk error
    or some physical damaged sectors.

    We suggest you
to run chkdsk n: /f (where n replaces drive letter) command line to fix potential errors,
    and try again converting.

If you have any other questions or
suggestions, please feel free to contact us back.

    Best Regards,

    Hello mpk222,

We are so sorry for the inconvenience. You may first do what Kam advised.  If there is still any problem, could you please open AOMEI Partition Assistand and then right click the partition you want to convert, next select Partition info and check whether the file system is NTFS 0X07 or not. If it's not, you need to change it with pay version.

If you have any further questions please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi,
I have the same issue with a 0.5 TB drive. I've run chkdsk with fix arg, and checked the drive whether it is NTFS 0x07. It is 0x07, but the conversion fails whith the aforementioned message.

    Regards,

    ADor
