Can't start a systemdisk backup if multiboot system

edited November 2017 in AOMEI Products Support

Hi, When I want to do a system backup in a system with multiboot of windows 7 and windows 10, I can't select the system disk which I want to backup. AOMEI makes a back up of both system disks in one image.

If so, how can I selectt the system disk that I want to backup, or otherwise how can I select the diskbackup in the image?

Thanks for looking into the matter. By the way a great product.

Second question: I always backup by hand, so is it possible to unload/not load the Aomei Backupper Schedule task service?

Thanks.

Can you upload a screenshot of Disk Management?

    No, cannot unload the service.

  • Here two links to screenshots of the situation at hand. In the first image the dark blue selected system is the one I want to backup

I think in order to get a bootable system after restore you need the boot (opstarten) and the system partition. In your case these are on different disks for any reason.

But you can do a partition backup of any partition you want, but it won't be bootable by itself after restore. However you can add that partition to any already working/running PC and add the restored partition to the boot menu with EasyBCD. You can even add MBR/BIOS OS partitions to a working GPT/UEFI system and vice versa, boot and run it.

  • Both C: and Z: are system partitions, so AOMEI Backupper will backup them together, it can't be changed because our program doesn't support dual systems at present.
