Removing Files From Source Disk Before Backing up Partition

Hi guys!

Just wondering how the Aomei backupper works if I have removed files from source partition...

Originally I do a full backup of the partition and then differential ones after that....

I have backed up a huge file with films that I no longer want to be part of the original full backup...

What happens if I remove the films file from source...does Aomei remove it from backup or do I need to do a new full backup?

In a differential or incremental backup the previously removed files are also removed from/in these backups. The removed files are still available in the full backup.

When exploring or restoring a backup, you can choose which backup you want to explore/restore, the full (before the deletion) or the incremental/diffential (after the deletion).

  • @bookie56, if you backup the films, it will be in the bakcup image when you delete it in the source. You can can try to do the restore to get it. But you need to restotre the former backup image not the latest incremental backup image.
