Cant see external hard drive

Have just booted from a boot CD into the recovering environment but for some reason it cannot see my Maxtor One Touch external drive which is my backup is.
Any help with this problem will be much appreciated

Hi, if it's connected to an USB 3.0 port try a 2.0 port.
