Windows 7 machine can't boot from a bootable USB drive

edited March 2014 in AOMEI Products Support

Hello,

I have created a bootable USB drive (WinPE) using AOMEI Backupper - the process completed successfully.  However, when I try to boot from this drive, nothing happens.  After a second, it returns me right back into the boot menu and asks me to select another drive to boot from.

How do I fix this?

Thanks,

Pete

  • Hello Pete,

Are your windows based on UEFI boot? If it is, you should first disable Secure Boot and then enable legacy boot. After that, you are able to boot from the USB drive.

Sorry for the currently inconvenience, AOMEI Bootable media will support UEFI Boot in the near future.

If you have any other qustions or suggestions please feel free to let us know.
