Size of backup image

Hi,

I use AOMEI backupper and have a question concerning the size of the backup file:

Why is the size of the backup image so much smaller then the data on my disk altough I've selected "no compression"?

Surprised no one answered this earlier.  I'm new here and can only make a guess.

Most imaging programs don't back up some of the large temporary files on the disk, the page file and the hibernation file typically being the biggest and typically not required when the partition is restored.  This of course only occurs when the imaging application thinks that it understands the structure of the partition being imaged.

  • Hello to all,

This is an old post, at that time AOMEI Backupper only have one compression level, it will automatically compress the image, this is main reason. And Bill is right.
