HDD not recognized by system sufficiently

I extracted an internal hard drive and I could connect it to a laptop via a "usb to ide-atapi". Anyway, I needed to extract information but as the laptop did not support GPT I decided to convert to MBR fusing first some of the smaller partitions there, but with the bad luck that the usb connection failed when it was running and now I don't get to assign it to a computer. In Aomei itself is able to read the partition information and, in many cases, to recognize the space used, but the USB is disconnected after a few seconds and I have not time to work with.

This is the info of the disk:

Note: Partitions were made by factory. It comes from a DELL Inspiron computer with two hard drives with identical model (with twin I could work with it without problem, so rule out a malfunction or failure in the controller or usb to device ide-atapi): one for the system and one for data. The disk in question is the first. Windows 8 is installed in.

An old computer is where the usb works better (mobile AMD Sempron 3100+, 80GB disk and 1GB of RAM, Windows XP, not supported GPT). I have a newer one (Core i7, 2TB disk and 16 GB of RAM, Windows 8.1 and with support GPT), which recognizes my usb (usb to ide-atapi) and the drive although so short as I got to see them for a few milliseconds only once in Aomei and with more success a few seconds in disk management. All other times simply not displayed.

Am I hoping to retrieve information without overkill (take it to a specialist)? Any ideas? How could I? Thank you very much in advance.

  • Finally, I could solve it. The problem was the card of the disk. I replaced it by the card of the same model and works perfectly. I hope this info can serve to someone. Thanks.

  • Thanks for the info
