Parted Asst: System resize failed

I used Partition Asst to resize/shrink the Win 10 System partition instead of DiskMgmt. The WinPE option was not available, and was not able to immediately install the ADK.

It rebooted to pre-OS and was doing its process for a while showing status changes; after waiting longer this time and assuming it would be complete nod back to windows.

I arrived back at the system with it waiting at the Windows WinRE Auto repair bluescreen; no options for auto repair have worked.  Each option for WinRE repair asked to login, however it does not display any logon accounts.

Booting from install disk, I can see the resized partition and its contents.  I accessed with bcdedit and the bootmgr and {default} entries appeared correct.

No errors with Chkdsk; SFC off boot & windir produce this (Attached Image, 1).

DISM has similar results:Attached images 2 & 3.

I tried bootrec /fixmbr but it could not fixboot as /scanOS did not find OS.

Thank you for the command line screenshots, that is helpful.
You could restore your PC from a recent backup image you had made before this. Always backup disk before making disk changes.
If you don't have a backup image, please use Aomei Backupper to create a disk image on an external USB drive, before making more changes to your disk.
Please go to another working PC, and create a Partition Assistant WinPE USB, it only takes 1GB to make PA USB. reply with a screenshot of PA USB from your non-working PC, thank you.
    Partition Assistant WinPE USB:

Add custom drivers, such as NVMe, if necessary.

    Backupper WinPE USB:
    https://www.ubackup.com/help/create-bootable-disk.html
Add custom drivers, such as NVMe, if necessary. Works on most monitors.

    Aomei (Win)PE Builder USB:
    https://www.ubackup.com/pe-builder.html
Suite of tools that includes Backupper, Partition Assistant, Recuva, 7zip, OSF Mount, CPU-Z, Bootice, DiskMgmt.msc. Supports x64 portable apps. Some internal M.2 NVMe disks may not be detected. No additional drivers.

  • Is there any other advice to repair; doing a resize shouldn’t result in something completely unrepairable
  • @3m33dkojb You can download the AOMEI Boot Repair tool from the following link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YgX6jqLAI27sd10Q959-EKt0Cz9f1l3U/view?usp=drivesdk And you can just burn the ISO file to a CD/DVD or USB flash drive to fix boot and then reboot your PC. If it still does not work, please email our support team at [email protected] and offer some pictures of the boot error for further assistance.
